Physics-defying water and taste-defying hair.
Galli and I are almost through with the Howling Fjord, as signified possibly by our "Toured the Fjord!" achievement of having completed 110 quests in the zone. We kept thinking we were almost done, but then there was another followup that was right there, you know, and then we'd uncover another quest hub, and on and on and suddenly it was 5 a.m. and we were dead tired but couldn't stop because the quests were so goddamn amazing. The zone is a masterpiece in environment and atmosphere and the sheer diversity in quest design is really impressive. I hope the rest of Northrend can live up to Howling Fjord — I've already heard that Borean Tundra doesn't.
There is also endless opportunity for cuddles tiem in this zone, which we haven't talked about nearly enough given the name of this blog.
Oh wait... that last one wasn't cuddles tiem at all. It was freakin' scary, actually. I must admit though that this whole tumultuous transition from live Burning Crusade to the Wrath beta to live Wrath really forces me to reevaluate how I find enjoyment in this game. Logging into live servers now frequently gives me a minor existential crisis. Memories will last you a long time — and so will titles and mounts. But gear will always be an ephemeral measure of epeen size.
